Nele Hertling
Born 1934 in Berlin, raised in Mecklenburg, degree in philosophy, german
and theatre science at Humboldt University Berlin. Since 1962, she was
working for 25 years as a 'secretary' at the department music and visual
arts at Akademie der Künste, inventing amongst others the series
Pantomime-Music-Dance-Theatre. From 1988 on, she was head of the Werkstatt
Berlin, and artistic director of the Hebbel theatre. She turned the theatre
into a new model of networking process of international artists and production
places. Cultural politician, diplomat, double agent, board-founder, Chevalier
de la Légion d´honneur, lobbyist, committee handler, holder
of The Federal Cross of Merit, president of the german-french Kulturrat
- 15 years head of the Hebbel theatre (and initiator as well of the Festival
Tanz im August). Since 2003, she is director of the artist-programm at
the DAAD.
Reinhild Hoffmann is together with Pina Bausch and
Susanne Linke exponent of the german Performance theatre. Graduated in
Dance at Folkwang University under Kurt Jooss, own choreographies since
1974. Together with Susanne Linke she was head of the Folkwang Dance Studio,
from 1978 to 1986 head of the Bremer Tanztheater, until 1981 together
with Gerhard Bohner. From 1986 to 1995, the Tanztheater Reinhild Hoffmann
was located at the Schauspielhaus Bochum. Since 1996, Reinhild Hoffmann
is working as a freelance choreographer.
